With his entire professional life spent in the nonprofit sector, including nearly 30 years in fundraising and leadership roles, Dan McCormack brings a singular combination of experience and expertise to Escalus Advancement.

His work has included secular and faith-based organizations, private and public universities, hospitals and health system foundations, social service ministries, and membership associations. His responsibilities have run the gamut, as well: annual giving, major giving, planned giving, corporate & foundation relations, special events, communications, campaigns, management, staffing, governance.

For twelve-and-a-half years as Vice President of Philanthropy for Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in Springfield, Illinois, Dan led the integrated fund development programs of fifteen hospitals and affiliated clinical groups in Illinois and Wisconsin. During his tenure, his local foundation teams secured more than $170 million in contributions and grants, an average annual increase of more than 40% over the funds raised prior to his arrival. At the same time, under Dan’s leadership, the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation disbursed nearly $114 million to support capital and programmatic initiatives at the local hospitals, a 35% average annual increase over the prior period. The Foundation’s net assets grew by more than $15 million.

Prior to joining HSHS, Dan held fund development or administrative roles with the Methodist Hospital System, Texas Heart Institute, and Rice University, all in Houston, and the State University of New York and Mercy Hospital Foundation in Buffalo. He currently serves on the board of Edmundite Missions in Selma and chairs its development committee.
